Adria Rae
Adria Rae behind the camera
Her Deeper debut connects an early directing ambition with self-produced work, an invitation from Kayden Kross and a familiar production team.
An invitation built on her own work
Kayden Kross invited Rae to direct for Deeper after seeing the clips she was making independently. The invitation therefore grew from material Rae had already shaped herself, rather than simply from her acting credits.
Their first announced project was Finish. Kross described Rae’s own work as visually appealing and expressed enthusiasm for what she could do as a director. It was a concrete studio opportunity arising from independent production.
Directing Finish
The 2019 production stars Gina Valentina and Damon Dice. Its story follows a young woman’s fixation on a troubled man and the complicated feelings that develop around that relationship.
Valentina described working with a close friend on Rae’s first scene as enjoyable and praised the visual result. Rae, in turn, credited the people who helped bring the project together. Those accounts place the debut within a collaborative production, with responsibility extending beyond performance.
Knowing the set from another position
Before directing for Deeper, Rae had appeared in Going Deeper, the label’s debut title. That experience meant she already knew the production team when she moved into the director’s role.
She said working as a performer with Kross had inspired her interest in the label’s visual approach. The project also followed her earlier ambition to see more women involved in directing and camera work, connecting a stated goal with a specific professional credit.
